Democracy Now! Join Campaign to get it on TV on the East End

A campaign to get Democray Now on TV all over Long Island is underway. The program is not available in much of Southampton and the North Fork.

If you are in range of WUSB at 90.1 FM you can now listen to Democracy Now at 5pm each weekday! This alternative news magazine goes where the corporate media fear to tread. Amy Goodman and Juan Gonzalez cover stories such as the struggle for democracy in Haiti and the facts on the ground in Iraq.

There are two ways to get Democracy Now on Long Island TV:

1: An on line petition addressed to the Towns, Cablevision and also to WLIW (PBS station) asks for live re-broadcasts on either public access TV or on channel 21.

2: Cablevision is now taking applications for program sponsors on public access TV for the Riverhead - East End cable TV system which covers Southampton, Shelter Island, Southold and Riverhead towns.

If you want to sponsor Democracy Now on PATV Channel 20 contact:

for more information.

Applications must be postmarked next Tuesday August 16 so
time is running out.
