4000 Dead in Iraq: Vigil Saturday, March 29 Smith Haven Mall
According to Iraq Casualties Count 4000 US soldiers have died in Iraq as of March 23, 2008.
To observe /commemorate our 4000 dead, a vigils is planned for Lake Grove (Smith Haven Mall) on Saturday March 29. A vigil was held in Bridgehampton on Monday afternoon March 24.

Tidings from Hazel Kahan on Zimbabwe
This Saturday, the southern African nation of Zimbabwe will go to the polls. Since independence only one head of state, Robert Mugabe has been in power. Opposition candidates are running and according to some reports have significant support.
Recently Hazel Kahan of Mattituck spoke with a white Zimbawean artist about how the political and economic problems of Zimbabwe affect his life.
That interview and a review of Zimbabwe's history and present problems is the subject of this month's Tidings from Hazel Kahan. The program was broadcast Thursday March 27 at 12 Noon on WPKN 89.5 and WPKM 88.7 and wpkn.org.

A play "The People of Clarendon County", written by Ossie Davis and first
performed in 1955 will be the subject of a program at the Southampton
Elementary School on April 17 at 6pm.
Alice Bernstein, author of a book about the play and an educator will speak
