Since we need to demand stronger anti-war measures coming out of Congress than the ones currently proposed by the House (&Senate) leadership, we must keep the pressure on our federal representatives.
The Long Island Alliance has initiated an effort to do this on the afternoons of March 12 and March 19. The Suffolk Peace Network has decided to work on this as well as decided at the last SPN meeting on March 5.
While LIA is covering the Nassau offices, the SPN will assemble at the LI offices of Rep Israel and Rep Bishop.
Susan McKeon (281-0055) is the contact person for the Rep Bishop office. We plan to be in front of the building on Monday from noon to 2:00 PM on March 12 with our message (no to escalation, cut the war funding, etc). His office is located at 3680 Route 112 in Coram. Going north on Rte 112 pass LIE and go to just south of Rte 25. On west side next to a garden center.
Charlotte Koons is the key person for the Rep Israel protest. This protest will take place from noon to 2:00 PM on March 19. Charlotte can be reached at 631-261-8590. Rep Israel ’s office is located at 150 Motor Parkway in Hauppauge.
