April 2 (Sunday): East End Women in Black Vigil for Peace in Bridgehampton at 3pm

East End Women in Black continue their vigil for peace and an end to the occupations of Iraq and Palestine. Join them at the Flagpole/Monument at Ocean Road and Route 27 (Main St) in Bridgehampton at 3pm. The vigil alternates between Bridgehampton (first Sunday each Month)and the Sag Harbor Wharf (third Sunday each Month).

April 2(Sunday): Radio Looks at Immigrant Rights: WUSB Stony Brook from 7-8PM

"Get Up, Stand Up" radio with Matt Hegedus on WUSB 90.1 Stony Brook will feature Shu Ohno, Communications Associate for the Massachusetts Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy Coalition (MIRA), will be joining us on "Get Up, Stand Up" Radio to raise awareness about immigrant rights and how HR 4437 (The Border Protection, Antiterrorism, and Illegal Immigration Control Act of 2005) looks to eliminate those rights. We will also be discussing the massive demonstrations taking place around the country in support of EQUAL RIGHTS for our immigrant brothers and sisters. Join us to find out what you can do to become involved in this new civil rights movement!

"Herstory" Writing Workshops in Spanish and English

Wednesdays in Farmingville:

Herstory Writers Workshop meets every Monday afternoon at the Farmingville branch of the Workplace Project from 3 to 5. Both English-speaking and Spanish-speaking women come together to share and shape their life experiences through memoir writing. The workshop is conducted in both English and Spanish. Thursdays in East Hampton:

Every Thursday Spanish-speaking women come together to share their writing with one another and receive feedback on how to structure and shape their lifewriting.The East Hampton workshop is open to East Hampton Town residents and is conducted entirely in Spanish

It meets every Thursday, 7-9 p.m., at the Senior Citizens Center, 128 Springs-Fireplace Road.
