March 23(Thursday): Hillary Clinton at Stony Brook U. 9:30am-12noon and Demonstration from 11:30am-1:00pm

The Social Justice Alliance at Stony Brook University is planning a "die-in" on the arrival of Hillary Clinton for an engagement at the Staller Center at Stony Brook University. Hillary continues to publicly support the ongoing War in Iraq. Join others as we say NO TO WAR! BRING THE TROOPS HOME!

The program inside the Staller Center is from 9:30-12:00. Those wishing to participate in the die-in should be at the Staller Center at 11:30. It is so important we take this opportunity to again say No To War!....and no to Hillary's stand on the war!

The next Jobs with Justice-LI Delegate Assembly is set for Thursday, March 23rd.
Dinner is at 6pm. The meeting will take place at CSEA in Commack (directions below).

These meetings are open and welcoming to new faces.

From the west:

LIE E to exit 52. Continue straight on the service road to Crooked Hill Rd (route 13). Make a LEFT on Crooked Hill. Go under the LIE, and make a RIGHT into shopping center. CSEA is between Expo and Costco.

March 26(Sunday): Mideast in Crisis - Talk by Anna Baltzer in Bridgehampton at 4:30pm

Hear the facts first hand from Anna Baltzer, a Jewish-American observer living in the West Bank and working with the International Women's Peace Service.

March 26th (Sunday) Monthly Candlelight Vigil in Patchogue 6:30-7:30 pm

Candlelight Vigil at Four Corners in Patchogue (S. Ocean Ave. & Main St.). Names of those killed in Iraq will be read. Sponsored by South Country Women In Black, South Country Peace Group & Pax Christi. This vigil is held on the last Sunday each month.

March 27 (Monday): LI Counter Recruiting Committee Meets in Bellport at 6:30pm

The LI Counter Recruiting Committee will hold a meeting for interested adults to discuss the rights of the Conscientious Objector. The intention is to pass this info along to youth to help them interested in establishing a CO file.

March 28th(Tuesday): Suffolk Peace Network Forum in Bayshore 7:15-9:15 pm

The Suffolk Peace Network forum will host Geoffrey Blank of the “No Police State” coalition.
Geoffrey and others have been targeted for prosecution for speaking out for Peace and Social Justice. A 20-minute film followed by an update by Geoffrey and a group discussion.

The forum is at the Bayshore/Brightwaters Library. Event is free, all are welcome.

"Herstory" Writing Workshops in Spanish and English (note changes):

Wednesdays in Farmingville:

Herstory Writers Workshop meets every Monday afternoon at the Farmingville branch of the Workplace Project from 3 to 5. Both English-speaking and Spanish-speaking women come together to share and shape their life experiences through memoir writing. The workshop is conducted in both English and Spanish. Thursdays in East Hampton:

Every Thursday Spanish-speaking women come together to share their writing with one another and receive feedback on how to structure and shape their lifewriting.The East Hampton workshop is open to East Hampton Town residents and is conducted entirely in Spanish.

It meets every Thursday, 7-9 p.m., at the Senior Citizens Center, 128 Springs-Fireplace Road.
