The North Fork People of Conscience has been preparing and exhibiting a series of memorial panels with the faces and biographies of the 2,000 US soldiers who died in Afghanistan and Iraq. This is an ongoing effort since the number of dead is continually growing.
Last week the exhibit, called "Honor the Fallen", was shown at New York University in collaboration with the Campus Anti-War Network. Hundreds of students saw the exhibit which drew new recruits to the campus group.
NYU officials described as "political" a table bearing literature, posters and a container for donations and demanded it be removed.
The next scheduled showing of Honor the Fallen will take place from Friday September 30 to Sunday October 2 at Camp Quinipet on Shelter Island.
